We, the Yamuna House, conducted our first-week house activities for the June month between 24.06.19 and 29.06.19. The week started with the motto “Drink clean Water and Stay Healthy”. On Monday, Celina ma'am gave a speech about the longest river of India, The Yamuna, its beauty and prosperity. She depicted the Yamuna river as a source of knowledge, understanding, and skill which flows through the pillars of IJMHSS.

We represented the flow of Yamuna through our school by pasting the names of the places through which the Yamuna flows i.e. from Yamunotri to Trivenisangam on the pillars of the corridor. A special message was given insisting not to waste water and bring at least two liters of drinking water to school.

Every day, we gave a small thought on water scarcity and several solutions to the problem. One of the solutions that our Yamuna House student team proposed is the planting of tree saplings on student's birthdays. We believe that it will create awareness among the young generations. So, we requested our team students to bring saplings on 28.06.2019(Friday). The tree saplings were planted on 28.06.2019 at our school premises. Our 10th, 11th and 12th students eagerly participated in doing this social work.

We gave opportunity to all the Yamuna house students to decorate the notice board on behalf of our house. Especially 5th, 6th and 10th students made the chart work under the topic water scarcity. Our House in charge teachers enthusiastically participated in Assembly activities and Lunch duties. Mr. Joshua Sir introduced Yamuna House Team’s Captain and Vice-Captain while Miss. Sindhu coronated them.

On the concluding day, an open quiz was to conducted for all the students in the assembly. Overall it was a good learning experience for all of us and we are looking forward to our next turn.
