"So please, oh please, we beg, we pray, go throw your TV set away, and in its place you can install a lovely bookshelf on the wall."
- Roald Dahl -
As George R.R. Martin says, a reader lives a thousand lives. Here we have set ourselves on a journey to give thousand and more lives to our children. In order to inculcate the habit of reading in our children, we have completely revamped our library to give it a fresh look and making it more appealing to our children. The library have been added with several collections such as several children books of Enid Blyton, Ruskin Bond and also from publishers like Pratham, etc to name a few. They have been arranged according to the reading levels in order to make reading more fun for our children. In addition, we have added a games corner loaded with card games where children can have fun while learning.
We have intentionally left the walls of the library to be empty as we envision it to grow more colourful as our children grow with them.
It's not an exaggeration to say that this library would have been impossible without the efforts from many of our friends. We would also like to thank our friends from organisations such as Let's open a book, Books for all, The community library project, Pratham books, Eureka books for their continuous support and guidance.
If you have got some books or card/board games sitting idle at your place, we can give them life here. Please drop us a mail at deepak@ijmhss.org, if you're want to giveaway your books or board games. Also, you're always welcome to read stories for our children and play with them :)
